Finally canned those grapes

So, I never wanted to make jelly but Don always did.
So, after 18 years I finally gave in and we made it together
yesterday. It wasn't so bad and it came out great!
But, I still think it's just so cheap to buy why would anyone
want to go through the bother!  Then, there are those
perfectly good grapes

Rides his Bike from VT to MA

Don decides to ride down to MA to go to Joe Martin's 60th birthday party. He stays with Alison and they meet Mike for breakfast at Red's the next day before Don heads home to VT. Quite the trip going down solo.

Father's Day 2018 @ Salem MA

Getting to spend the day with two of the four grown up kids! It was perfect weather and great day to create new memories in Salem, MA.

Hoping for Blueberries!

This guy is determined like nothing else to have a grand blueberry harvest. Most people would have quit years ago! But, not Don, he is going on at least 3 years. He has tried hanging pie plates, surrounding the bed in plastic netting, replacing the plastic netting with chicken wire and along the way buying more and more plants. It was finally discovered the rabbits were the main culprits in destroying what little growth there was. Well, they are finally able to grow but the season is late so there is always next year....stay tuned. Love this guy who doesn't give up but, methodically, finds a way! Wishing him success with his blueberries and can't wait to see the smile on his face.

Take a HIke...then take another

One thing we both really enjoy is hiking. We now have the advantage of choosing the good hiking days because of our open schedule, I have to confess that most of the time I slow Don up as I catch my breath but he never complains and I love that about him. Me, I start complaining about halfway up when I start sweating and panting! But, always we get it done and always feel accomplished at the top. And lets face it...the downhill is sooo much easier!
